New Fiat Panda Cross
named best crossover of the year in the UK
THE Panda CROSS: at home in town and country
For the fourth year running, the Fiat Panda Cross has won the "Best Crossover" award at the
"4×4 Magazine" in Great Britain. Acknowledged by a panel of experts in the 4×4 segment for its off-road capabilities, pleasant drive and engines, the Panda has been the leader in Italy, along with the 500, in the city car segment in Europe for the last eight years. In 2020, the year of its 40th anniversary, the Panda enjoyed the strongest growth ever recorded in its segment in Europe (+3.8%) and the best market share in its history (18%).
Alan Kidd, editor of 4×4 Magazine, commented: "The Panda Cross just keeps winning our awards. The opposition is fierce, but nothing else can match Fiat's icon in terms of off-road capability, on-road performance or distinctive looks. People who live in the mountains or go through a harsh winter buy vehicles like this because off-roading is part of their lifestyle. It may be small, but the Panda has plenty of pulling power and incredible handling. The Panda Cross is the ideal city car, ready to become a cross-country hero in the blink of an eye".
This impressive victory joins a long list of achievements for the Fiat Panda, including being the first car in its segment to win "Car of the Year" in 2004, the first city car to climb to an altitude of 5,200 metres and reach the Everest base camp, and the first city car with 4-wheel drive technology.
